Kerstin Weiß

Kerstin Weiß studied acting and directing at the Folkwang University. Since then she is active as director, author and in production management. She worked as assistant director for the theaters in Essen and Wuppertal and the Oper Köln, where she staged opera for children. Guest engagements as director gave her the opportunity to work in various venues including the Landestheater Marburg, the Oper Magdeburg and the New National Theater in Tokyo. She was artistic director of the Kammeroper Köln, artistic director of Opera at Theater Nordhausen and Theater Stralsund. She founded the musical theater musica europa and the Festival Schlossfestspiele in Marburg and was Representative Director of Theater Bielefeld. Since the season 2019/20 she joined the Landesbühnen Sachsen as leading dramaturg. For the Roman BUS 57 she developed a theatrical version for the world-premiere.
