Ava Hunt

Ava Hunt is a theatre maker in TYA and the wider field of applied theatre with nearly 40 years of experience.  She trained with Augusto Boal and worked with Dorothy Heathcote in Mantle of the Expert practice. As a senior lecturer at University of Derby, delivering both undergraduate and postgraduate Applied Theatre programmes, she is currently working on her PhD.

Published research includes: the role of the bystander.  Current research explores: verbatim refugee stories, the effect of pornography on young people’s relationships and Creative Ageing.  

She has worked and delivered papers internationally including: Palestine, USA, New Zealand, Sweden, Norway, Sri Lanka, Soviet Union, Czech Republic, Romania, Australia, and India.
