Helga Neira Zugasti is teacher/tutor of children, youth and adults with disabilities since 1964 as well as working in the field of rhythmic education in schools and in the (further) education and training of teachers. She is co-founder of different inclusive projects (e.g. inclusive children’s group 1985, first integrative learn-atelier 1991, inclusive housing 2006, inclusively playing music at the University of Music Vienna 2008). Helga teaches didactics and praxis of movement education/rhythmics in special education at the Department of Music and Movement Education/Rhythmics of the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna since 1995. She is closely connected to the association by providing pedagogic assistance. Helga was leading several research projects (e.g. “Promoting children (10-14) with special needs at the learn-atelier through open and active learning 1997”; “Integrative dance and theatre with children – a project of cultural sciences” 2004; “Watching, perceiving and supporting development – using movement education/rhythmics as example” 2008.
