Gabriela Melo Larsen

 I am currently taking a master’s degree in fine arts and theatre at the University of Agder in Norway, where I initially studied a bachelor’s degree in contemporary theatre. I also hold a bachelor’s degree in fine arts and set design from The Federal University of Rio de Janeiro and I have studied visual arts for one year at the New York University.
I have been working as a producer and set designer for many years both in Brazil and in Norway, including at the Norwegian Opera House. In Brazil I have worked as an art teacher for a project in a favela in Rio de Janeiro, with kids from 6 to 12 years old. In Norway I am also a theatre facilitator and project leader for Stemmene art and theatre workshops for immigrants in Kristiansand. With the group Stemmene I focus on creating theatre for young audiences with immigrants, particularly those from a minority background.
